July 5th 2024 Current Affairs : Aditya-L1 is India’s solar mission, which was launched on September 2, 2023. The spacecraft was inserted into its intended halo orbit on January 6, 2024. Aditya-L1 completed its first halo orbit around the Sun-Earth L1 point on July 2, 2024. Its Aditya-L1 took 178 days to complete one revolution around the L1 point in the halo orbit. During its journey, the spacecraft underwent three station-keeping maneuvers on February 22, June 7 and July 2 to maintain its orbit. Aditya-L1’s journey involved complex dynamics, and Station-keeping maneuvers ensured continued passage of the spacecraft around the L1 point. The spacecraft’s journey around the L1 point helps scientists understand the Sun’s photosphere, chromosphere, and corona.
