The second edition of the Global Chess League begins in London in October
ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ 3 ರಿಂದ 12, 2024 ರವರೆಗೆ ಲಂಡನ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಚೆಸ್ ಲೀಗ್ ಎರಡನೇ ಆವೃತ್ತಿ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಆಯೋಜಕರು ಜೂನ್ 27 (ಗುರುವಾರ) ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದರು.ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಚೆಸ್ ಲೀಗ್ ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಚೆಸ್ ಫೆಡರೇಶನ್ (FIDE) ಮತ್ತು ಟೆಕ್ ಮಹೀಂದ್ರಾ ನಡುವೆ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗಿದೆ. ಟಾಪ್ ಆಟಗಾರರನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿರುವ 10 ದಿನಗಳ ಈ ಲೀಗ್ ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ಲಂಡನ್‌ನ ಫ್ರೆಂಡ್ಸ್ ಹೌಸ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ.ಮೊದಲ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಯ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿನ ನಂತರ, ಲೀಗ್ ವಿಶ್ವದ ಉನ್ನತ ಚೆಸ್ ಆಟಗಾರರನ್ನು ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ನಗರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಗ್ಗೂಡಿಸಲು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿದೆ.ಮೊದಲ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶ್ವನಾಥನ್ ಆನಂದ್, ಮ್ಯಾಗ್ನಸ್ ಕಾರ್ಲ್‌ಸೆನ್, ಗುಕೆಶ್, ಹೌ ಯಿಫಾನ್, ಪ್ರಗ್ನಾನಂದ, ವಿದಿತ್ ಗುಜರಾತಿ, ಅರ್ಜುನ ಎರಿಗೈಸಿ, ತಾನ್ ಝಾಂಗ್‌ಯಿ ಮತ್ತು ಇಯಾನ್ ನೆಪೊಮ್ನಿಯಾಚಿ ಮೊದಲಾದ ಅನೇಕ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಆಟಗಾರರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಇದು ದುಬೈನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದಿತ್ತು.ಮೊದಲ ಸೀಸನ್‌ನ ಹೈಲೈಟ್ ಅಂಶವೆಂದರೆ ಗುಕೆಶ್, ಪ್ರಗ್ ಮತ್ತು ಅರ್ಜುನನಂತಹ ಆಟಗಾರರು ಕಾರ್ಲ್‌ಸೆನ್‌ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅದೇ ತಂಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗಿಯಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಂದ ಕಲಿಯಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ಪಡೆದರು.ಭಾರತದ ಪ್ರಗ್ನಾನಂದ ಮತ್ತು ಚೀನಾದ ಟಾನ್ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ತ್ರಿವೇಣಿ ಕಾಂಟಿನೆಂಟಲ್ ಕಿಂಗ್ಸ್ ಮೊದಲ ಸೀಸನ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂಬಾ ಮಾಸ್ಟರ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಗೆದ್ದರು.
June 30th 2024 Current Affairs : The organizers announced on June 27 (Thursday) that the second edition of the Global Chess League will be held in London from October 3 to 12, 2024. The Global Chess League is a joint venture between the International Chess Federation (FIDE) and Tech Mahindra. The 10-day league featuring top players will be held at Friends House in Central London. After the success of the first edition, the league aims to bring together the world’s top chess players in historic cities. Many prominent players participated, including Tan Zhongyi and Ian Nepomniachi. It was held in Dubai. The highlight of the first season was that players like Gukesh, Prag and Arjun were in the same team as Carlsen and got the opportunity to learn from him. While India’s Pragnananda and China’s Tan were participating for the first time, Triveni Continental Kings won the title in the first season by defeating the Mumba masters.

June 30th 2024 Current Affairs : Vikram Misri has been appointed as the new Foreign Secretary. Vikram Misri is a highly experienced Indian Nuclear Service (IFS) officer who has held various important posts. The new order replicates Quatra’s extended tenure, which now ends on July 14. Prior to his post as Deputy National Security Advisor (NSA), Misri served as India’s Ambassador to China from January 2019 to December 2021. Misri has high-level experience of the second informal summit in Chennai and Misri is a 1989 batch IFS officer who has held important posts in countries like Japan, Sri Lanka, US, Kazakhstan, Italy etc. In recent times, he has served in important roles in the Government of India. His appointment is a sign that India’s foreign policy is being guided by a highly experienced and rational leader. His appointment as Foreign Secretary will help further strengthen India’s foreign policy and expand the country’s international relations. Misri has been working hard to foster good diplomatic relations with other countries and to promote India’s interests around the world. His appointment as the new Foreign Secretary is being marked as another significant step in India’s Foreign Office.

June 30th 2024 Current Affairs : The International Monetary Fund (IMF) released the Artificial Intelligence Readiness Index (AIPI) dashboard on its website on June 25, 2024, tracking 174 economic systems globally on their level of AI readiness. According to the AI Readiness Index, India ranks 72nd, while Bangladesh (0.38) ranks 113th. , Sri Lanka (0.43) ranks 92nd and China (0.63) ranks 31st. The tool ranks and evaluates 174 countries based on how ready they are to adopt AI. Singapore, Denmark and the United States top the list of most powerful economies with scores of 0.80, 0.78 and 0.77 respectively. In a study released in January, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) pointed out the huge impact AI could have on the world’s jobs. About 33% of jobs in advanced economies, 24% in developing economies and 18% in low-income countries could be threatened by AI.
