This index emphasizes a wide disparity in global governance standards, with European countries dominating the top ranks and Latin American and South Asian nations struggling to improve their positions in the rule of law criteria.

Egypt now joins four other African nations recognized by the WHO for successfully eradicating malaria. This achievement reflects nearly a century of dedicated efforts by the Egyptian government and people to eliminate the disease, which once plagued communities along the Nile dating back to 4000 BCE. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus described it as a historic milestone, honoring Egypt’s commitment to overcome a challenge that had been part of its history since ancient civilization.
